Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026. Please read these terms carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, installing, or using the KeyPher application, browser extension, or website (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Your Master Password Responsibilities (CRITICAL)

KeyPher is built on a zero-knowledge architecture. This means we never store, transmit, or have access to your Master Password.

Because of this security design, we cannot recover or reset your Master Password if you lose it. You are solely responsible for remembering and safely storing your Master Password. If you forget your Master Password, your encrypted vault data will be permanently and irreversibly inaccessible. We are not liable for any data loss resulting from a forgotten Master Password.

3. Acceptable Use of the Service

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to store illegal content, distribute malware, or conduct cyber attacks.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the KeyPher backend infrastructure.
  • Use the Service in any manner that could disable, overburden, or impair our servers.
  • Sell, resell, or lease your account to a third party.

We reserve the right to immediately terminate or suspend accounts that violate these Acceptable Use terms without prior notice.

4. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its original source code, cryptography implementations, features, and design aesthetics, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our proprietary software without explicit written permission from KeyPher.

5. Service Availability and Updates

We strive to ensure the Service is available 24/7, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) temporarily or permanently with or without notice.

6. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

In no event shall KeyPher, its directors, employees, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data loss, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the Service.

7. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the date at the top of these Terms and, depending on the specific changes, we may provide you with additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after any modification constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
